booktwo

The folks over at booktwo.org have created a project called Swotter, which aims to read you books, one line at a time, via Twitter. Currently, the piece being read is James Joyce’s Ulysses; it started on February 28th, and at a pace of one line per 15 minutes, it should take 8 months.

Warning: if you haven’t already gathered this much, you’re going to get a lot of tweets from booktwo.

sfearthquakes

The SF Bay Area sometimes gets earthquakes, so Coda Hale wrote a Twitter bot that scrapes the USGS website and notifies you via Twitter (that is, if you didn’t already feel it firsthand).

more weather bots

In addition to forecast, which is an auto-reply bot, there are several announcement bots that will give you periodic weather updates:

mashable

Get updates on new posts from Mashable, the popular blog focused on online social networking.

retweet

Yes, we have our very own bot, so that you can find out about new bots via Twitter. Kind of like looking at a picture of you, looking at a picture of you, looking at…errr…umm….you get the idea.
